The first picture is the reason we are here. This is Jennifer at the couples Mehandi. She was beautiful!
(Sorry, these are a bit out of order!)
The next is Jeremy, Sarah and I in our first rickshaw ride. Very fun and as Jerm said, "the best 12 cents he ever spent!"
So, during the Mehandi the bride and groom get blessed by friends and family and while blessing they get smears of paint on their faces, feet and hands. We were kind to Jen but, the women in Vikkal's family let him have it!
There is a place called Dhobi Ghats that is what we have named the worlds largest washateria. This is where the bulk of Mumbai's laundry is done. With over 5000 workers, the process of washing the laundry is long and tedious. Millions of people's laundry is done here, The water is dirty, but the clothes are super clean. This was an amazing place.
We are on break from festivities right now. I am happy to announce that Vikkal and Jen are now married. We head to the reception around 8 so, for now, it's nap time!
I plan on posting more photos tomorrow of a few more sights and the wedding. If you think her attire for the Mehandi is amazing wait to see the wedding! Also, I plan to set up a photobucket to house all of the photos because I am sure everyone probably wants to see more than 5 at a time. I will post the link to that as soon as it gets up. Hopefully, tomorrow.
Now for that nap....
